Blog 1931: What are you most excited about when it comes to fall fashion this year?
Billy Reid: Outerwear, leather and hand knits. There is more of an opportunity to expand fabrics and textures in fall, and that’s always fun.
Blog 1931: What can we expect to see when it comes to the fall collection from Billy Reid?
Billy Reid: We put an emphasis on tailoring and luxury fabrics for fall and we are very eager to have those new pieces in our shop.
Blog 1931: Do you have any new favorites?
The nutria lined parka jacket is the piece I’ve worked on for a couple years and it finally made the collection. I want that one.
Blog 1931: What’s the inspiration behind the fall 2012 collection?
Billy Reid: I spent some great time in Paris and London this past year and I’ve thoroughly enjoyed mixing that vibe into the collection.
Blog 1931: How did you celebrate winning the CFDA award?
Billy Reid: It was such a great honor, I just tried to soak up very second of the experience and enjoy the moment.
Blog 1931: What do you like best about Highland Park Village and the setting of your Dallas boutique?
Billy Reid: We are thrilled to be have call Highland Park Village home in Dallas. We love the vibe here and it’s where we’ve always wanted to have our shop. We really want to create an intimate and warm environment where folks would enjoy visiting often.
Blog 1931: Do you have a favorite quote or motto you try and live by?
Billy Reid: Respect others, be nice and love what you do.
Blog 1931: Where’s your favorite place in the world to visit?
Billy Reid: Too many to mention. Home is my favorite and I travel often, so my favorite time is actually not traveling at all.
Blog 1931: What’s one fall or winter traveling must-have?
Billy Reid: A good boot.
