“I’m in my rose period,” Carolina Herrera told Vogue. Herrera presented her Spring Summer 2016 collection at a rose-themed show staged at the Frick Collection on the Upper East Side. The Frick Collection has never before opened its doors for a fashion show – this was its first. This collection represents “tranquility, not stillness but calm elegance – where transparency and illusion evoke sensuality.” It was void of prints as Herrera has done so many in the past. Spring Summer 2016 was all about working modern fabrics into her classic aesthetic. Key trends were shades of rose and modern pleats. Here are a few standout looks.
