CHANEL – Assistant Manager

The CHANEL Boutique Management Team has four primary focuses: leadership, hospitality, operational efficiency and driving business. Within this team, the Assistant Manager supports the entire boutique organization in accordance with providing an Ultimate Luxury Experience for all CHANEL guests. S/He directly impacts the key focuses through effective coaching and talent development of the boutique Fashion Advisors and product management. S/He acts as a brand ambassador, consistently emphasizing and demonstrating CHANEL’s Image and Brand standards. The Assistant Manager works closely with the Boutique Director to ensure team goals and actions are strategically aligned.

LEADERSHIP
Talent Development

  • Partner with Boutique Director to foster a strong team ethic and support individual talent development by providing clear, consistent, constructive and timely performance feedback
  • Conduct daily/weekly staff meetings communicating business priorities and reinforcing expectations of best in class service and product knowledge
  • Mobilize the boutique dynamism by proactively coaching and inspiring Fashion Advisors on and off the selling floor to create a welcoming and engaging atmosphere
  • Foster a positive working environment that encourages diversity, mutual respect and teamwork free from discrimination or harassment
  • Partner with Boutique Director (and HR when necessary) to proactively address and resolve employee issues
  • Act as direct point of contact during the on-boarding of new Fashion Advisors

IMAGE & CLIENT SERVICE

  • Supervise Fashion Advisors’ clientele efforts and selling techniques to promote effective client engagement
  • Partner with Boutique Director to execute strategic initiatives in support of client development
  • Establish and maintain selling floor accountability for self and Fashion Advisors to promote and deliver best in class service to all CHANEL clients
  • Enforce personal image guidelines among Fashion Advisors
  • Partner with Visual Manager to reinforce and maintain Brand image through appropriate product merchandising
  • Address and successfully resolve client situations in accordance with CHANEL’s Service Mantra and Standard Operating Procedures
  • Aspire to represent CHANEL within the local market by attending events, entertaining clients and elevating Brand visibility/relevance

OPERATIONAL EFFICIENCY

  • Manage sales reporting and other Key Performance Indicator analysis for Fashion Advisors as instituted by the Boutique Director
  • Work in conjunction with full Boutique Management Team to oversee daily boutique operations
  • Maintain thorough understanding of all Standard Operating Procedures and enforce compliance among team members

BUSINESS RESULTS

  • Achieve or exceed product category sales goals as set forth by merchant team in Home Office
  • Achieve or exceed other Key Performance Indicators, including but not limited to, client retention and cross departmental sales goals
  • Establish and maintain a strong CHANEL network from boutique to boutique and within the Home Office
  • Partner with Boutique Director to develop business goals and execute action plans
  • Act as direct product and business liaison between merchant team in Home Office and Boutique by communicating strategic assortment feedback and advocating business needs and opportunities

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum Associate degree – management, hospitality or fashion related course study is a plus
  • Minimum 3 years prior retail management with direct responsibility for talent development, operations, merchandising and client services

SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE:

  • Proven ability to recruit, develop and inspire talent
  • Possess a positive attitude and desire to bring people together
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to adapt analytical data into actionable strategy
  • Able to manage multiple, shifting priorities in an effective and timely manner
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
