Leave it to Highland Park Village to bring yet another A-list store to Dallas. But this time it’s not about designer gowns and stilettos for special events; it’s about looking fabulous while feeling comfortable every day. That’s exactly what Dallas shoppers can get at James Perse.
Perse himself welcomed guests — including Kimberly Schlegel Whitman,Justin Whitman, Elisa and Stephen Summers, Kary Brittingham, Anna Sophia Van Zweden, Tim Peck, Brooke Hortenstine, and Missy Rogers — and showed them around his newest standalone boutique.
Born and raised in Los Angeles, Perse says sports ironically led him into the world of fashion. He was so obsessed with baseball caps that he set out to make one that fit his specific requirements.
He then launched a T-shirt line that became a huge hit in Hollywood among customers seeking the ultimate blend of luxe and casual. In 2003, he opened his first retail store; now there are 40 James Perse boutiques in the United States and abroad, where customers are clamoring for his low-maintenance, high-fashion signature styles.
Ten percent of sales up until November 3 were donated to the Animal Recovery Mission to stop the inhumane treatment of horses. A fashion-minded man with a philanthropic side too? Welcome to the neighborhood, James.
