LISA RIGGERT, ST. MICHAEL’S WOMAN’S EXCHANGE
Tell us a little about yourself and what led you to your job at St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange.
I began as a volunteer gift wrapper when my children were young. After many years in retail management and buying, the opportunity to manage The Exchange presented itself, and I have been in that capacity for the last 16 years.
What is your favorite or most unique thing about what you do?
Because the Exchange is operated by 140 volunteers, I never have two days alike! The dynamic is always changing and evolving. I love interacting with many people who share the common goal of giving back to the community.
How long have you personally been visiting Highland Park Village?
After graduating from the University of Kansas, I moved to Dallas and quickly found the shops and restaurants in Highland Park Village. I continue to enjoy shopping and dining at the Village as I have for the past 40-plus years!
What do you enjoy most about the Highland Park Village community?
There is a great sense of camaraderie and support between all the shops. I especially love helping make an important gift from one of the other shops even more special with our elegant gift wrap.
What’s a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?
Maine is my happy place, and I try to spend some time there each summer. I am also known as “Baba” to my 18-month-old grandson.
Lastly, where would we most likely find you in Highland Park Village?
On a beautiful day, you would most likely find me reading a book at a little table in front of Sadelle’s or Bird Bakery.
