Tell us a little about yourself and what led you to your job on the Highland Park Village management team.
I worked at a cleaning company around 2001, and the owner found this job for me because he worked in the offices here. At first, I worked about three days a week for a few hours. The management team said I worked hard, so I was hired for a full-time position.
How long have you been working at Highland Park Village?
I started in 2002, so 24 years.
What’s your favorite or most unique thing about what you do?
I don’t have just one favorite thing because I love it all. I love to stay busy, which is easy here because there is always something going on, and I do a little of everything. For example, I work with cleaning, maintenance, contractors, and David with the landscaping team. Every day brings different tasks, and I love working outside.
I also love to make people happy and see their smiles. From customers to employees, I get to help people in many ways.
What do you enjoy most about the Highland Park Village community?
The community is why I have been here for many years. I want to retire here because I love this place and the people. I also work with St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange and the Village Barber Shop during the week.
What are some of your favorite spots around the Village?
I am constantly moving around, but the roof of Building G, where Park House is, has an amazing view. I go up there to check the units, and I like how you can see the whole Village, downtown, and the golf course at Dallas Country Club.
