Jonathan Simkhai is a fashion brand based in Los Angeles, founded by the designer himself in 2010 after graduating from Parsons School of Design and the Fashion Institute of Technology. Recently, the retailer rebranded and revealed its new name, SIMKHAI, during its Fall ’23 New York Fashion Week show.

Jonathan draws inspiration for his designs from his travels, architects and sculptors, and embraces the blending of progressive construction with hand-detailed techniques. He designs each garment with the female body in mind, making his collections flawless for the modern, everyday woman. In 2015, he won the prestigious CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award, recognizing his original silhouettes and quality of construction throughout his designs.

Simkhai’s collections (now including swimwear and accessories) cater to all modern women seeking versatility and style for their wardrobes. The women who wear Simkhai’s clothing are the primary inspiration for his creations. Whether for a red-carpet event, an important business meeting or a casual brunch, SIMKHAI offers diverse designs that cater to every occasion.

Since 2019, Simkhai has dressed some of Hollywood’s biggest stars for the Met Gala. For the 2022 Meta Gala, themed “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty,” some fashion critics deemed his gown for actress and comedian Mindy Kaling on the best-dressed list for the night.
