MARKET – Buying Coordinator

MARKET is a women’s concept boutique housing a finely curated selection of clothing, accessories, fine jewelry, and home décor in addition to 2 rotating incubator spaces. We are currently seeking a full-time buying coordinator to join our growing team.

In the role of Buying Coordinator, you will assist the buying office with daily buying functions, the marketing office with in-store events and activations and participate in all market prep & order writing processes. You will report directly to the Associate Buyer and Chief Creative Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Act as the point person for all buying office leading all pre and post market prep.
  • Track buyers schedule to request showroom notes in real time, key orders into MARKETS PO templates, print and label images, track order due dates and clearly communicate deadlines to buying office.
  • Track, Check and Confirm all purchase orders.
  • Enter all purchase orders into the POS system following guidelines for matrix’s, ensuring all information is accurate and correctly formatted for use both in Lightspeed and Shopify.
  • Keep all inventory up to date in the POS regularly monitoring inventory for price changes.
  • Track and approve in season shipments ensuring all orders are shipping within the delivery window bringing action plans to Associate Buyer if goods are late.
  • Pull, track and report daily, weekly, and monthly sales by brand and department both for internal and external use.
  • Provide sales recap’s propose re-orders, and swaps based on analysis of selling reports.
  • Become an expert in all YR inventory across all categories monitoring and reporting on selling weekly proposing slow performing solutions including marketing efforts, product knowledge training, selling contests etc.
  • Create, deliver, and present PK packets and seminars to the buying office and sales team upon receipt of new goods, introduction of new brands or any time new hires join the sales team.
  • Function as the point person for all product knowledge becoming an expert in the brands carried at MARKET.
  • Lead the Pop-Up business by acting as the point person for all selling reports, weekly re-orders, swaps and RTV’s required for pop-up spaces.
  • Work directly with Marketing on all events, activations, and promotions.
  • Manage & Track clothing allowance for pop-ups.
  • Assist on the sales floor for special events and activations as needed.

Qualified Candidates

  • 1-2+ years of buying training or coordination in apparel, fine jewelry or home, or related degree.
  • A strong understanding of complex retail math
  • Strong excel skills.
    • Ability to read and create excel reports from scratch.
  • Self-Motivated and goal oriented with the ability to juggle deadlines and multi-task.
  • Be able and willing to assist sales team on after hours event weekends as needed.
  • Outgoing and enthusiastic, with excellent communication skills, a positive can-do attitude, and the ability to thrive in a team environment.

This role is M-F however candidates must be flexible with scheduling as some weekends are required during heavy buying times. This role is also expected to help with after-hours events and activations as needed.
