Founded in 1922 by Alice Kriemler Schoch, Akris is synonymous with refinement, minimalism and impeccable Haute Couture craftsmanship, offering ready-to-wear and accessory collections. Akris is commonly sought after by those in search of wearable clothes, sharp feminine tailoring and a balance between the finest material, precise proportion and effortless functionality.
Designer and third generation, Albert Kriemler assumed creative responsibility of the Switzerland based brand in 1980 and began the enhancement of Akris in Europe, followed by Asia and finally the U.S. Kriemler possesses an architectural approach and feeling for fabrics, colors and proportion that transcend each Akris collection which have garnered notable recognition through the years. In 2016 Kriemler was most recently awarded the Artistry of Fashion Award from the Couture Council of the Museum of FIT, and is noted for one of few collaborations with an architect with the Spring/Summer 16 Collection.
In 2009, Akris expanded with the launch of the iconic Ai bag. Known for its sharp structure and versatility, the Ai bag is the brand’s signature shape – a subtle trapezoid relating the “A” of Akris. Akris has made available to clients the ability to customize their very own Ai style, with a vast selection of colors and hardware to choose from.
With the release of the brand’s most recent collection, the 2017 Resort Collection is inspired by the color drenched world of Jockeys. The elegance, passion and sleek graphic style of competitive equestrians is transposed through bold color in sleek silhouettes.
