Get to Know…Joey Flores

Tell us a little about yourself and what led you to your job at Frédéric Fekkai.

I’ve been doing nails now for 38 years. The former owners of Frédéric Fekkai recruited me for a year before talking me into coming to check out Frédéric Fekkai Dallas.

How long have you been working at Frédéric Fekkai?

I’ve been here for 10 years.

What’s your favorite or most unique thing about your job?

Working at Fekkai gives me the opportunity to meet the nicest clients from near and far.

How long have you personally been coming to Highland Park Village?

I’ve been coming to the Village when there used to be a 7-11 here, ha!

What do you enjoy most about the Highland Park Village community?

Heather Washburne has dubbed me the mayor of Highland Park Village…that ought to tell you something. Seeing the community come together here is wonderful. That’s HP Village!

Are there any secret or fun facts you can share about the Village or yourself?

Most Highland Park Village families are not familiar with how Bistro 31 got its name. Highland Park Village was built in 1931 – that year is where Bistro got its name.

What are some of your favorite spots around Highland Park Village?

Bird Bakery is one of my favorite spots. The owner, Elizabeth Chambers, is one of my clients and friends so I was so excited when her bakery came to the Village a few years ago. I recommended that she open a location here. My favorite thing there is the grilled cheese, it’s delicious!
