Tell us a little about yourself and what led you to your job at Lela Rose?

My husband and I are from northern California and are “high school sweethearts.” We moved to Dallas about eight years ago. I was shocked when I got the call asking to manage Lela’s boutique in Highland Park Village. I had worked in the bridal industry for seven years and never saw myself not in bridal. After talking to Lela and the team in New York, I knew I wanted to take on this opportunity. In November 2019, we were fortunate enough to expand and open Lela’s first Bridal Boutique! Having both ready-to-wear and bridal in the Village has been a dream.

How long have you been leading the charge at Lela Rose in Highland Park Village?

I have been with Lela Rose for two years.

What’s your favorite or most unique thing about what you do?

My favorite thing is that I work for an incredible Dallas native designer! Her personality shines through in all her designs. I love introducing clients to bright, fun fabrics. Many of us gravitate to blacks and navy, myself included, and Lela makes it so easy to venture outside our comfort zones. Never be afraid of a little color!

How long have you personally been visiting Highland Park Village?

I’ve been visiting the Village for about eight years now.

What do you enjoy most about the Highland Park Village community?

I love the community that Highland Park Village creates. It doesn’t matter if you’re a longtime resident or just moved to the area, you are bound to meet new people and have great conversations. Especially since Park House opened, I feel we are always running into friends or meeting new ones that we can sit and have cocktails with.

Are there any secret or fun facts you can share about the center, your boutique, or yourself?

Lela’s nickname is “Tequila Lela”! We always have tequila on hand and are happy to make you one of her famous cocktails in the store. Lela has always wanted her boutique to be a place that anyone can come in and feel like they are shopping in their friend’s closet.

What are some of your other favorite spots around Highland Park Village?

My husband and I love Lounge 31 on Sundays for happy hour!
