Get to Know…Jennifer Spoonts

JENNIFER SPOONTS, TORY BURCH MANAGER

Tell us a little about yourself and what led you to your job at Tory Burch.

I started my retail career in Highland Park Village at Harold’s. After relocating to Chicago and working at Ralph Lauren and Kate Spade, I joined Tory Burch 15 years ago.

How long have you led the charge at Tory Burch in Highland Park Village?

I have managed the store in HP Village since August 2019. Our store opened in 2008 and is the oldest original store in the chain.

What is your favorite or most unique thing about what you do?

I love meeting new people and learning about them. I love making someone’s day, whether a client or one of our associates. We are a very agile and change-oriented brand, so I have learned to be more adaptable and agile as a leader.

How long have you personally been visiting Highland Park Village?

In high school, I would come to the theater on Friday nights for the Rocky Horror Picture Show. I started shopping in the Village in my early twenties and then started working at Harold’s in the Village. So, that is almost forty years.

What do you enjoy most about the Highland Park Village community?

I love that the Village is a community and neighborhood of its own. We spend a lot of time in the Village for work, shopping and dining. It is nice to know your neighbors and see a familiar face in stores or while picking up lunch.

What’s a fun fact that most people don’t know about you?

I lived in Chicago for 18 years before returning to Dallas in 2012. My husband and I have parakeets as pets. The most amazing gift I’ve ever received was a flight lesson in Chicago. It was the most exhilarating experience of my life.

Lastly, where would we most likely find you in Highland Park Village?

If not at the Tory Burch store, I’m most likely St. Michael’s Woman’s Exchange. It is my favorite store to purchase gifts and have them wrapped. I love the ladies who work there!
